Thanks John! So it’s not a website you can log into to and access distant
repeaters.

Just a little more info... AllStar is repeater or radio linking software with
features similar to IRLP and Echolink. It is based on the open-source Asterisk
PBX software with lots of additions such as repeater controllers and a little
remote control ability. There are two AllStar distributions both free but from
different websites. One distribution runs exclusively on the Raspberry Pi
Single Board Computer under the Arch Linux operating system and the other
distribution on a Raspberry Pi and OS, Debian Linux, or Windows X/86 system.

The Raspberry Pi is a series of small, single-board computer systems which run
primarily Linux operating systems most of which are based on the Debian Linux.
Another popular OS is Arch Linux. The only problem at the moment is that
almost ALL the versions of the hardware are unavailable due to production
problems and chip shortages. The trickle of boards coming out is being bought
up by commercial users of this hobby-type computer before we get a chance at
them. Hopefully, the supply problem will ease over the next year or so. Right.

Hope this is useful.

It’s an electronics hobbyist computer. They are used in digital mode amateur
radio a lot I think. I have several for my electronics projects but none for
radios yet.
I don’t know what Allstar link works though. I have just started using EchoLink
which I assume must be somehow similar.

Hi Marvin:
I did not see any answers to your inquiry...so..
Raspberry Pi to my knowledge is a flavor of the Linux operating system.
I hope this is correct. If not I am sure someone will chime in. :-)
I cannot help you on the Allstar link.
