7.290 and 7.285 are the only day ones (morning) that I am aware of coving this
area on HF.  There might be some Louisiana nets during the day you can find as
well.  Close in contact during the morning on 40 gets hard - you may have to
look for Nets further out to be honest.  I'm sure you can find traffic coming
to Texas from out of state nets.   You can also try the TTN evening net on
3.873 but to be honest there is not traffic every night - maybe once a week
when Sheree or Don brings it.

Thanks for the info, but isn't there an HF traffic net as well?

Good morning!  I'm looking for the (NTS related) traffic net for the
Houston area. I'd like to participate, but if there's a website, I haven't been
able to find it and I also don't know the HF daytime frequency they use. I am
aware of the Texas Traffic Net and have tried to participate, but more often
than not, I can barely hear net control on 7.285, so I'd like to find something
closer. Any info would be greatly appreciated.
