Surprised and sorry to hear that some feel excluded... My experience has been
the exact opposite. As a newbie ham who had never been on HF, I attended what
must have been my 3rd or 4th BVARC meeting about 3 years ago, and they happened
to be doing elections. Nobody ran for Corresponding Secretary, so I walked up
to N5VCX as things were winding down and volunteered to do it. I've been
knee-deep in BVARC business ever since. I've never felt ostracized, but I
guess I didn't wait around for a welcome committee, either... Maybe that was
the difference. I've not seen anybody here intentionally exclude anyone else,
but perhaps we should be more mindful about being explicitly welcoming.

Subject: Re: [BVARC] Net problems

Thanks for posting this Ralph... I like the CLUB to see when this happens...

When the old guys clique, they do not even notice they are doing it.
If they dont get complaints they may never notice....

as a life member,
I hate it when the club is percieved that way.. And I probably do it as well
sometimes..( i dont know?)

When I joined back in the 80s it was ALWAYS that way... over the decades it has
gotten better...

Join back up with us and help us to make it better!!!
no body knows if you dont speak up (and thanks for that)

I have tried to participate in activities, tried to invite BVARC to join my
activities, attended meetings every few years only to be always ignored.

I dropped my membership years ago.
I watch the reflector on case there is an activity I can do on my own.
