Hello fellow HAM operators

I am Bill Bayard, AK5WB

I live in Richmond Tx and have 2/3 of a SteppIR DB18E to give away

About three weeks, the top of my 50’ self-supporting, aluminum, universal tower
failed; folding the top 10’ section down, wreaking my antenna.  According to
mph weather station data, a 66 mph gust hit the antenna about two hours
earlier, then steady 20 mph for two hours, then no data.

IN my opinion, the tower should not have failed.  The tower is supposed to be
good for 110 mph, at twice the antenna load…. anyway

Photo shows two (of three) motorized elements, a 6 meter passive element…

I am giving away the antenna parts salvaged… they were working 100% prior to
the storm tuning SWR down to 1.02 on 40-6 meters.  Visit QRZ.com, look me up in
details, AK5WB to see what the antenna looked like when assembled and
operational.

I Salvaged about 2/3 of the antenna; to GIVE away, come get it.  Salvaged
includes:

   - Two complete, disassembled elements, with all its stepper electronics,
tape reels,
   - All boom relay, junction, control boxes, etc.
   - The antenna controller with lightening protection circuits
   - The six-element passive element

What you will need to restore antenna to 100% operational

   - One competes element with its electronics (tape reel box)
   - One boom… I had to cut it in taking down the antenna.
   - A tower to put it on...

The antenna is at my house, give me a call to come get.  U will need a pickup
truck and at least two people to load, about 30 mins to load, and some rope to
secure.

First come first served
