The wire idea might just work and two 17 AWG = one 14 AWG equivalent.
Also, I will be doing the left knee in a few more months and I am at 118°
bend now! I am having a surprising amount of ankle and foot pain along
with the knee, etc.

Rick, consider 17 Gage electric fence wire available at your local feed
store. I think I bought 1/4 mile for something under $20. Try two
strands, hold one pair end in a vice and twist the other end of the pair
with an electric drill. It completely changes the feel of the wire.

So building a wire antenna huh? You know that not only is enameled wire
lighter than vinyl but it has a longer electrical length, i.e. it gives a
slightly tighter pattern. Well, I don't have any but I'm sure someone out
