When do you need it?
How large is the plate?  L x W x D?  Drill press limits.
Concerned that they are not thru holes....bottom of hole wud be concave.   That 
Ok?   If it needs to be flat you need a Forstner type bit/mill.   You gonna tap 
them?

Why is a straight drill tricky?   Wad I miss?
