Allen,

I understand that we are going to have some great stations setup this year. New
antennas with great rigs and a resolve for being a real contender. Whats
usually one of the best field day teams on the air could easily be looking at
putting up a solid score that will get noticed by all. Filed day is a great
event and a few good Hams could make all the difference.

Last year our setup was amazing and the team was outstanding. I got to operate
on rigs that I can only drool over in the magazines .I wouldn't want to be
someone that missed out of being part of a winning team. The N1MM loggers
should be rolling in the contacts again this year and for me there is nothing
like being in the middle of all the action.

I love being a HAM and all the excitement of filed day. Once the antennas are
high and we are all watching the clock for that magic hour for GO time. Even
working through the night with the coffee flowing and keeping an eye of the
scores just piling up.

As Hams we should all love getting out of our shack and hanging out with the
club on our special day. I am hoping over the next few weeks we can get some
commitments to come and join in on all the fun.

New Hams, experienced Hams, even non hams should take some time to come out and
join in the fun. My daughter had a blast running the GOTA station last year.
We will have CW, SSB, and digital stations all working. I am hoping we have
some people chasing the Satellites. If you have never seen someone chases a
contact on bird flying through space, then that alone would bring me out.

Over the next few weeks we will be offering up some time slots. Some of the
great slots will go fast and they will be first come first serve. I like the
Grey line slots myself the bands seems to get interesting. I hope to see
everyone come enjoy catching some great contacts, after all it's only once a
year.

Have Fun,

Jeff

Hey guys, the joint TDXS/BVARC/Echo Field Day is coming up at the end of June.
Jeff, Glenn and I are looking for top operators to propel us back in to the top
ten. I am in charge of CW, Jeff is in charge of SSB and Glenn, RTTY. If you
don’t already have other plans for FD, we could really use your help. So I am
calling upon my TDXS Brethren contest experience to not only put a lot of Q’s
in the log, but to also act as mentors to the less experienced hams who will be
there also.

FD is the last weekend in June and will be held again at the Pecan Grove
Volunteer Fire Department Station, 727 Pitts Road, Richmond, Texas. This year
will be again have two manlifts and a hydraulically extendable antenna mast on
a remote trailer, two brand new tribanders to go along with the other two we
already have, two 40 meter beams (one new), two brand new 80 meter inverted
vees, great food, and I am aiming for an all K3 station. So far I have at least
5 K3’s committed and I am working on more. So if you would like to be part of a
winning team, and get TDXS back up with the top ten scores, come join us!

Please let me know if you can make it and if you think I have missed any other
available great contest operators, let me know. I will be making an operating
schedule a few weeks prior to FD.
