Hi all,

My giddiness cannot be expressed in words. :)

I just worked Reunion Island, which is just off the coast of Madagascar, 10,000 miles away. This is part of the world I had long given up hope of ever reaching!

I mean, we're on the downward slope of the solar cycle, I live in an RF-noisy neighborhood, and I'm using stealthy and highly compromised antennas. (In fact, the antenna I used wasn't even my wire vertical antenna, which has succumbed to the elements. This was off my temporary inverted-V dipole at sixteen feet....which I nearly took down this morning...I'm glad I didn't!)

Yes, of course, the mode was JT65 (20 watts)....and FR1GV has a decently high Yagi for 20 meters that did the heavy lifting, but the fact remains that I tickled something on the other side of the planet and it tickled me back. That is absolutely magical.

(Current DXCC: 101 worked, 97 confirmed.)
