Hello, all,
The T2FD is another antenna (like the G5RV) whose history is full of old wives tales, tongue in cheek comments, snide remarks, superstitions and urban legends. So, if you really want to get into the meat and the truths behind the TTFD, then reading Bill's referenced article by Mr. Countryman is a good start. But...others have written about it, modeled it and analyzed it. I have listed what references I have, below, to expand your knowledge about the TTFD. Interesting, you bet, but not for everyone..find out why by doing a bit of research....Enjoy..73.Rick - W5RH Performance of the TTFD - Countryman - CQ mag Sept 1951 The T2FD Revisited - Schultz - W4FA - CQ mag Aug 1985 US Patent # 4,423,423 Broad_bandwidth_folded_dipole_antenna The T2FD Antenna -- World Radio Magazine - Kurt Sterba April and November 2002 T2FD Notes - LB Cebik web site - W4RNL Aug. 2006 - Note: most informative Modeling the T2FD - LB Cebik web site - W4RNL - Aug. 2006 - Note: most informative Receiving Antenna Handbook - The TCFTFD -- Joseph Carr Practical Wire Antennas - The TCFTFD (Loop Antenna) -- RSGB
