Wait a minute.....isn't that what cell phones are for???? -----Original Message----- From: BVARC [mailto:[email protected]] On Behalf Of Bill Crowell via BVARC Sent: Thursday, April 02, 2015 7:58 AM To: BRAZOS VALLEY AMATEUR RADIO CLUB Subject: [BVARC] Time to service your HT batteries All, It’s that time again. Thunderstorm and hurricane season. Time to make sure your HT battery packs are ready for duty. Here’s the N4HPG official recommended method: 1. Leave the HT on until the battery dies and the HT shuts off. 2. Place battery into charger - preferably an intelligent charger. 3. Shampoo - lather rinse repeat for each battery pack. (You do have spares don’t you?) When buying battery packs, put a date on them. I use a Ptouch label. Most of mine were bought at the Shelby NC Hamfest in 2011 so it’s about time to start replacing them. When we are all partially recharging even the NiMH packs, they don’t always get the full tank. This method is mandatory for ALL charging of NiCAD packs. 73 Bill N4HPG _______________________________________________ BVARC mailing list [email protected] http://mail.bvarc.org/mailman/listinfo/bvarc_bvarc.org _______________________________________________ BVARC mailing list [email protected] http://mail.bvarc.org/mailman/listinfo/bvarc_bvarc.org _______________________________________________ BVARC mailing list [email protected] http://mail.bvarc.org/mailman/listinfo/bvarc_bvarc.org
