I attempted to announce this at the meeting last night, but I am unable to
talk over the crowd. Next month I think I may have to bring a PA system.

Starting on Saturday, the military crossband radio communications test will
begin. The earliest station will be on the air at 1am CST from Guam.

The MARS link above contains the list of stations that will be operating,
their approximate operating times, and the frequencies on which you should
be LISTENING.

If you are new to this operating event, it is very important that you
understand that the military personnel will be transmitting on military
frequencies. You, the amateur radio operator, will be transmitting on
amateur radio frequencies. DO NOT TRANSMIT ON THE MILITARY FREQUENCIES.

For further clarification, the military will be listening on the ham bands
and transmitting on their military frequencies. You will be listening on
the military frequencies and transmitting on your ham bands. This where
the term "crossband" comes from.

The military station will announce what frequency that they are listening
for you to transmit on.

Have fun and make lots of contacts and don't forget to thank them for their
service.

Seven Three,

Michael - K5WRN
