Because from a PoV of a coder, you were challenging this patch ignoring the main goal of the patchset and the functional meaning of the "standalone" concept. LOL The alternative is to stop here to complain and accept the explanation about what "standalone" means and leverage it to help coding a better solution or simply don't and let others do.
