Hopefully qemu multicore mips is supported on the malta machine model. RTEMS has a BSP for this but you would need to ensure it operates proper single core before moving to SMP. If you have done the hello world task, then I would recommending building RTEMS tools for the MIPS and test the Malta BSP on qemu.
