For this system the method of getting the non-primary rom is likely acpi. If you build a kernel with 'option DRMDEBUG' you may see more information as to why this errors. On older laptops with two gpus, both had display hardware and there was a hardware mux. On this, the radeon probably does not have functioning display hardware. Even if it could find a rom, we don't handle cross device rendering with drm dmabuf/prime.
