Try manually triggering a suspend via 'zzz(8)'.
You'll need to have apm running. `rcctl enable apm; rcctl start apm`.
You may then wake up by tapping the power button.
That much provides an easier way of testing than closing and opening
your laptop lid until the crash occurs.
