>Description:
After upgrading to OpenBSD 7.5 on a thinkpad x201, and after
bootloader and kernel messages, wscons shows nothing until xenodm
starts. Xenodm starts in 640x400 mode. Once logged, a first xrandr
command doesn't show the LVDS1 video output. A second xrandr, for
e.g.: xrandr --output LVDS1 --mode 1280x800 correct the problem.
Switching to a virtual console with Ctrl-Alt-Fx then works as
intended.
OpenBSD 7.5 has been upgraded from an almost fresh 7.4 install (two
weeks ago) The upgrade was done through sysupgrade, then sysmerge,
syspatch and pkg_add -u were run as usual.

Upgrade to OpenBSD 7.5 from 7.4 on a Lenovo Thinkpad x201.
>Fix:
A workaround has been to put the following lines in
/etc/X11/xenodm/Xsetup_0:
# first xrandr to "discover" lvds1
${exec_prefix}/bin/xrandr
# correct resolution
${exec_prefix}/bin/xrandr --output LVDS1 --mode 1280x800
although this doesn't - of course - solve the wscons black screen
during boot it allows to recover usability of both X and wscons after
xenodm starts.
