I don't know what is triggering this error and so far I have failed to reproduce it. Apparently something is wrong with the scan command but I don't know what is wrong exactly. As a workaround, does it help to disable background scanning by temporarily hard-coding the MAC address of the working 2GHz AP? ifconfig iwx0 bssid 04:20:84:31:dd:ab To use any AP again, run: ifconfig iwx0 -bssid
