Synopsis: Minecraft causes the entire system to hang
Category: system kernel amd64

I was playing Minecraft on a machine with a R7 360. Whenever I join a server,
after a few minutes or almost immediately, the entire system begins to hang and
stop responding. On a few occasions I can see this message being spammed.

[drm] *ERROR* Couldn't update BO_VA (-22)
drm:pid1773:radeon_sync_rings *ERROR* Syncing to a disabled
ring!drm:pid1773:radeon_ib_schedule *ERROR* failed to sync rings (-22)

This occurs on all Minecraft version, and on all radeon_firmware versions from
6.6 release to 6.7 beta. Once this occurs, the system require a hard shut down.
It won't respond to ACPI signal.

Similar problem also occur for amdgpu from 6.6 release to 6.7 beta, but with a
different error message:
[drm] *ERROR* ring gfx timeout, signalled seq=10088, emitted seq=10090

When this happens on amdgpu, it responds to ACPI signal, so I can still
gracefully shut it down by pressing the power button.

The problem only seems to happen when I'm playing on a server where there are a
lot of activities. On an empty world I haven't encountered this problem before.
I suspect the amount of activities lead to a huge amount of OpenGL calls and
that somehow screw up the system.

I am willing to share a Minecraft account to reproduce this problem. Thank you
for your help.
