When the other side of an IPSec negotiation requests that a flow be
created from a subnet
that is not specified in /etc/ipsec.conf, isakmpd creates the flow and
associated SA. The
flow does not in fact transmit any packets in either direction,
(confirmed by running
tcpdump on enc0) but the fact that it is set up and shows up (for both
sides) is problematic.
Yes, I'm aware that it's not a pure GENERIC build, but the kernel is
GENERIC.MP and the problem
is in an area that is not touched by the resflash setup.
This bug appears to go back a ways -- and older machine that is running
6.0-stable (yes, I
know I need to update it, it's in my plans when I visit the family over
the holidays) shows
the same behavior. I just never noticed it before.

The 172.16.0.0/16
network is not specified in the ipsec.conf file.
Opposite side is a Sonicwall NSA 4500 appliance. I have confirmed that the
Sonicwall is requesting
a flow for the 172.16.0.0/16 network.

Change configuration on the other end to not request the undesired
flow.
