Hello,
I'm experiencing performance issues with OpenBSD 6.1 and 6.2 when
running on qemu 2.10 (machine type "pc-i440fx-2.10").
The symptoms are that some simple commands become quite slow or
unresponsive. For example: "vmstat -w 1", or "iostat -w 1", and "top -s
1". I assume this is something related to timing within the kernel. I've
tried compiling a "CUSTOM" kernel to change kern.clockrate "hz" from
"100" to "1000", but this didn't eliminate the latency.
I'm not sure if you generally support qemu, but any advice or
suggestions would be appreciated. This behavior wasn't present when
running OpenBSD 6.1 or 6.2 with previous versions of qemu 2.x.
Below are the steps taken to reproduce this issue:
1. Install qemu on a host server.
2. Create a VM with hardware type "pc-i440fx-2.10".
3. Install OpenBSD from the "install61.iso" or "install62.iso"
Let me know if you require any additional information.
Thanks,
