As I've already mentioned I haven't found an easy way to reproduce this problem. My impression (not completely positive this is the case though) is that it occurs when I'm frantically isearch-forwarding. It happens rarely, and when it does it catches me by surprise. I'll surely let you know if I find a way to reproduce this at will.
As for a stack trace, how would I configure mg to provide a stack trace if it segfaults?
