Hi Gavin Smith. As you may already know, I produce my book writings using GNU Texinfo. So far, I am pretty happy. I still don't have a need to change writing in TeX or LaTeX.
I also do translate a Free Software project. And I am starting to translate GNU Texinfo; mainly for my books' production. In order for others to benefit from my Portuguese translations, I have to talk to the software project in question to see if it will accept translations outside the Translation Project organization. The thing is, I already tried to take a seat at the Translation Project european portuguese team, and did not successfully accomplish that. The portuguese coordinator deletes mails from the portuguese mailing list, and it is redirecting translators into translating for other non-Free Software organization. I also started receiving SPAM, after exposing this practice by this portuguese coordinator (the Police did nothing). I already talked to the Translation Project coordinator of all language's teams, and he did nothing to change the current poor/inexistent state of the Portuguese team. I can dig the emails, if you need/want proof of all of this. So, I did try to make part of the Translation Project. Either way, the Free Software project that I translate now, receives translations outside the Translation Project organization, and the translation state of this project's translation is good/great, and above normal ;-) . I want to know, if I share my GNU Texinfo translations to this mailing list, will you will try to accept my European Portuguese translation git patches?
