[texinfo.tex 2025-03-02.20]
Please consider the following input, which uses U+2019 four times in a row in the first line. ``` \input texinfo cāāāā c@quoteright@kern 0pt @quoteright@kern 0pt @quoteright@kern 0pt @quoteright @bye ``` Attached is the output of both pdftex and luatex (using binaries from the TeXLive repository, which should correspond to TeXLive 2025). The two lines should be identical. However, as can be seen in the luatex output, the use of `\nolig` to suppress ligatures (commit 0f849a41145) no longer works. Either there is a problem with the newly added `\if<engine>` macros, or the quotes are accidentally no longer active characters. Werner
