Hello, Maybe it could be time to set TEXINFO_XS_CONVERT to 1 in the default case? There is no real urgency to do it, but if texi2any implementation is installed, it will use the code corresponding to TEXINFO_XS_CONVERT set to 1, I think that it would be better to have the same defaults in both implementations. Also it seems to work well in the CI and I doubt that it will get more testing before it becomes the default.
