I found a bug in the stand-alone Info reader. To reproduce: Open any file in info. For example, 'info gcc'.
Put the cursor at the top of the page. Issue the 'beginning-of-line' command (e.g. 'M-x beginning-of-line', or 'C-a'). Watch as info freezes and you get a bunch of "bell" in your terminal. I've observed this on Ubuntu, SLES, and RedHat.
