Norbert suggested that they could make cm-super (or lmodern) a depends or recommends on texinfo, if you wish. Please advise :).
This could be done regardless of what happens with the overall texlive dependencies and Patrice's mail to tldistro (good idea, Patrice; hope there are some responses). -k
