Sir:I was attempting to add a partition using parted and had done so, when I used <sudo partprobe -s> to have the modified partition table re-read, when a crash occurred. The following message appeared:

add_logical_part_metadata() failed I am running Ubuntu 16.04 on a Gateway NV55C Let me know if you need any more information. John Heselton
