I have also seen the same error when running "make check" for
parted-1.9.0 on Ubuntu 9.10. My suspicion is that this has more to do
with an error in the test than an error in parted.
It is important to note that several patches have been released by
fedora to be applied to parted-1.9.0.
Also when using parted-1.9.0 with GParted and Ubuntu 9.10, problems have
been encountered with resizing file systems. One of the problems has
been fixed by the patches, the second problem we have yet to discover
what is causing the problem.
