Sorry for an incredible delayed answer. Version 1.6.21 of libparted is old and this bug is supposed to be corrected however tha faq says "Fixed some time ago; this has recently cropped up again, however" so I am not sure. It would be good if you could retest this again with either the latest gparted livecd (http://gparted.sourceforge.net/livecd.php) or if you compile gparted-0.2.5 + parted-1.7.1 yourself.
