Summary: release failing jobs last when -j and -O in use Group: make Submitter: None Submitted: Sun 09 Jun 2024 10:28:12 PM UTC Severity: 3 - Normal Item Group: Enhancement Status: None Privacy: Public Assigned to: None Open/Closed: Open Discussion Lock: Any Component Version: SCM Operating System: None Fixed Release: None Triage Status: None _______________________________________________________ Follow-up Comments: ------------------------------------------------------- Date: Sun 09 Jun 2024 10:28:12 PM UTC By: Anonymous Relaying a suggestion from a co-worker ... when -j and -O are both in use, parallel jobs will be running with their output impounded until completion. The suggestion is that when these conditions are met *and* one or more jobs fails, the output of the failing job(s) should be released after that of the successful jobs such that error messages land near the end of the build log as they would be in a failing serial build. Does this does sound like it might be useful and not too hard to implement? _______________________________________________________ Reply to this item at: <https://savannah.gnu.org/bugs/?65863> _______________________________________________ Message sent via Savannah https://savannah.gnu.org/
