Summary: end-of-line backslashes fails with perl (Cygwin, although I strongly believe it's general problem) Project: make Submitted by: None Submitted on: Tuesday 06/03/2008 at 03:47 UTC Severity: 3 - Normal Item Group: Bug Status: None Privacy: Public Assigned to: None Open/Closed: Open Discussion Lock: Any Component Version: 3.81 Operating System: Any Fixed Release: None _______________________________________________________ Details: Makefile that produce this bug is attached. There are two targets in the makefile. These two targets should be identical, except that one of them is using backslashes to break lines. As said in the summary (title), the target with backslashes fails. Although this is seen in Cygwin, I believe it is a general issue. An evidence is: I did try to do both unix2dos, and dos2unix on Makefile. Same results. Make v3.80 works well, but Make v3.81 fails on the backslash target. See the attached Makefile (and input file) for detail. _______________________________________________________ File Attachments: ------------------------------------------------------- Date: Tuesday 06/03/2008 at 03:47 UTC Name: Makefile Size: 1kB By: None <http://savannah.gnu.org/bugs/download.php?file_id=15786> ------------------------------------------------------- Date: Tuesday 06/03/2008 at 03:47 UTC Name: input.txt Size: 71B By: None <http://savannah.gnu.org/bugs/download.php?file_id=15787> _______________________________________________________ Reply to this item at: <http://savannah.gnu.org/bugs/?23468> _______________________________________________ Message sent via/by Savannah http://savannah.gnu.org/ _______________________________________________ Bug-make mailing list Bug-make@gnu.org http://lists.gnu.org/mailman/listinfo/bug-make
