filenames with colons in them

The manual doesn't say how to deal with filenames with colons in them.
$ ls
a e:f
$ cat Makefile
a:e:f
        bla

P.S., in the Info index, lines with :: are unchoosable:
byte-code: No such node or anchor: rule, double-colon (
