This mailing list, [EMAIL PROTECTED], is for filing bug reports for the
program whose full name is "GNU make".
By default, GNU make will install itself such that it can be invoked
by the command "make". However, it allows the person who installation
to choose another command name for it. This is often done by people
who install GNU programs on operating systems that already provide
their own "make" tool, so as to eliminate name conflicts.
The most popular command name to use in that situation is "gmake"
(used, e.g., by {open,net,free}BSD who also ship BSD make). Another
is "Gmake".
In summary: "gmake" and "Gmake" are probably the same thing, though
they may be different versions. Ask your *local* system administrator
for more details if both names seem to work for you.
