But that seems unwarranted, since m4 has remove support for and use of .cvsignore files in recent commit v1.4.16-15-g47c48ce, "maint: drop CVS cruft". Not a big deal of course, but I thought you might want to be informed anyway (I'm not attempting a patch because I believe I've already filled my quota of modifications before having to sign yet another copyright assignment form).
