It was clearly an intermittent bug as every other note I would add : it would or not compile. This endured for now about 2 days (and only in that specific score). Using Frescobaldi I turned to the terminal to compile successfully and used "Reload all" in Frescobaldi to load the PDF and the MIDI (though point and click did not refresh).
