I agree.  However, my SVG knowledge is very small; this means I'm not
qualified to make any decisions.

Please raise these topics on the 'lilypond-devel' mailing list!
'bug-lilypond' is probably the wrong one.

It probably also makes sense to file issues in the tracker.
