Hi Gloops, I can't see a LilyPond bug here because LilyPond does exactly what it is supposed to do (at least in my LilyPond/Frescobaldi/Windows environment): It creates a PDF file named test.pdf and a MIDI file named test.mid. So far, so good. But, obviously, Frescobaldi does resolve the contents of the variable \test and thus fails to retrieve test.pdf or test.mid. As a consequence, neither the PDF file nor the MIDI file can be viewed resp. listened to from within Frescobaldi. For that reason I think this should be addressed to the Frescobaldi team.
