Hi Valentin, Aaron, many thanks for your insights and hints. I'll play around with it. Ofcourse my actual usecase is far more complex than the minimal above... Any thoughts for http://lilypond.1069038.n5.nabble.com/Setting-SystemStartBracket-style-to-brace-failing-td231524.html as well? This is another showstopper...
