Midi is underrepresented generally. For example, we have the
possibility to code custom-engravers but there is no possibility I
know of to do similar for midi.
And the docs are not very verbose either.

No need to apologize for sending a bug-report, which turns out to be no bug.
Better than the opposite: When bugs are not reported than a fix is
very unlikely...
