Dear all,
I would like to inform about an exciting project I made with LilyPond.
Every year, the Berlin Philharmonic Orchestra has its own Eastern Festival in
Baden-Baden. They play one big opera and numerous symphonic concerts.
This year, the opera will be "Der Rosenkavalier" of Richard Strauss.
In addition and thanks to the very active education program of Sir Simon
Rattle, they propose a children version of the big opera.

I was appointed to arrange a short and reduced version of the Rosenkavalier.

It is set for 4 singers (Sophie, Marschallin, Octavian, Ochs) and a chamber
orchestra of 13 players.
All the scores have been made with LilyPond (Vocal score, Full score and parts).
We had the first rehearsals this week and the musicians are delighted of the
high quality of the output.

Later this arrangement will be edited by Schott - unfortunately they can't /
don't want to work with LilyPond and it seems they will make their own
engraving.
But the premiere will be played with the nice LilyPond scores!

Dates:
April 2, 2015, 11 am, Festspielhaus Baden-Baden
April 6, 2015, 11 am, Festspielhaus Baden-Baden

April 26th, 3 pm and 5 pm, Großer Saal, Philharmonie, Berlin

I will be conducting the Berlin performances. In Baden-Baden Stephan Koncz, a
cellist of the Philharmonics, will be the conductor.
