Thanks for your advice, Colin.

I get these crashes on two different Windows 8 machines.

Does it fail for you *every* time, i.e. can you reproduce it reliably?
Yes, my LilyPond crashes always with this score.

Did you get this kind of error in the past?
Yes, I often get this effect on Windows 8 with non-trivial scores.

If not, what changed: update of Windows, update of LilyPond?
On Windows 7 I often could not reproduce the crashes.

You might try uninstalling LilyPond, then re-installing it.
I already re-installed LilyPond.

I seem to remember some odd behaviour relating to Windows $PATH gettingcorrupted.(Really reaching for it!)
The Windows PATH variable seems correct. Initially there was no entry for LilyPond, now I added it. Same problem.

You might try copying/pasting your code into acompletely new text file, then try compiling from the command line, justto see if there is anything odd about the .ly from Frescobaldi.
I just tried `lilypond new_file_with_same_score.ly` -- same problem.

Regards, Jakob
