What is different is the reason for the > half note to appear to the right of the whole note.
I believe both 1713 and 1546 are symptoms of the same problem: the distance by which notes are shifted doesn't depend on their size (yes, it's that stupid). I was investigating this with Łukasz, but our work spun off into changing do {} while(flip d) into for_UP_and_DOWN.
