I can confirm that compiling 20100501 with --enable-double fixed the
problem.
Unfortunately, there is no -D in the string from 20100501 showing that it
uses --enable double.

The changelog for fontforge indicates that the -D was added *after*
20100501, unfortunately.
So I don't think we can have a check; I think we just add it to the build
requirements docs and call this fixed.
