programming error: (de)crescendo on items with specified volume.
Wouldn't it be enough simply to reword the error message? I proposed something a long time ago, without getting much response.* Here's a patch that just changes the error message to: programming error: Impossible or ambiguous (de)crescendo in MIDI. Or is there something more to do with this? Graham mentioned this:
Still looks like a bug. Our input syntax is defined to accept an absolute dynamic as ending a crescendo; in this case, the midi output show just "get a bit quieter", then resume the same volume. Either that, or give a better warning message.
If nobody is going to make the MIDI engine smarter about this anytime soon, we should at least change the error message. http://lists.gnu.org/archive/html/lilypond-user/2008-11/msg00240.html - Mark * http://lists.gnu.org/archive/html/lilypond-devel/2008-11/msg00178.html Attachments: 0001-Better-wording-for-specified-volume-error.patch.txt 1.4 KB _______________________________________________ bug-lilypond mailing list bug-lilypond@gnu.org http://lists.gnu.org/mailman/listinfo/bug-lilypond
