Because that's what happens with bracketed Pedal markings, and there's no
way
to do it manually without a lot of workarounds. If you havew a single
semi-
breve in the last bar, you'd mark the pedal down like this:
c1\sustainOn
Where would you put \sustainOff to make it show?
