None of this section

is in the new essay. I am assuming that this is deliberate as it could be
taken as simply a page of 'Finale-
bashing'?
In this section:

The last 'section' starting
'This technique is a general technique, and it is used in a lot of
situations, for example.." down to the end of
the page is not in the new essay - perhaps extraneous?
In this section:
http://lilypond.org/web/about/automated-engraving/typography-features
The 'LilyPond' examples are missing in the new essay (or rather they are
not there - again this maybe
deliberate).
in http://lilypond.org/web/about/automated-engraving/input-format
The last paragraph is not on the new essay (is this important? I don't
think so).
Apart from these everything (and more) is included in the new essay
