Aha, as I suspected. So basically lilypond seems to be throwing a
preemptive error,
as it notices that SumatraPDF has the file open and thus assumes that it
won't be
able to write to the file. But since (for example) pdfLaTeX seems to be
able to write
to PDFs that SumatraPDF has open, I suspect that SumatraPDF is one of those
apps
ahawryluk referred to.
In any case, would it be possible for lilypond to just recklessly try to
modify the
file, and then throw an error on failure, rather than being overly timid as
is the
current situation? :)
