New issue 797 by v.villenave: Enhancement: numbers in chord names should have their own font
http://code.google.com/p/lilypond/issues/detail?id=797 Here are some suggestions that Pekka Siponen made about the way chord names are printed: http://lists.gnu.org/archive/html/bug-lilypond/2009-05/msg00007.html 1. The chord suffixes should not be scaled (see attachment). The weight of the smaller character gets too light if it is simply scaled down from the original font. A correctly weighed glyph is needed. 2. If raised, the suffix should be top-aligned with the preceding characted. 3. The sharps should be centered and the flats should be aligned with the baseline (Or something done in general, the sharps and flats look out of place). The size, weight and alignment should be better. The size should be about the size of the letter. I found an example of top-aligned chords from Gardner Reads Music Notation, page 411 (it didn't fit as an attachment). It has also a flat for comparison. Also, in my preference the default chords should be the same type as lyrics (serif). It is not good to mix sans and serif for no apparent reason.
