I got a similar problem with a binary self-compiled source from Git a few commits before : LilyPond used to segfault at "Building font database" when building internals documentation. I thought that it might be caused by a non clean build, so I completely cleaned my source tree and compiler cache, and I got no more segfault, although I compiled sources more recent than 2.11.50. On the other hand, I didn't manage to get a segfault with 2.11.50 GUB binary for Linux x86 with some of my scores I tried.
