working with lilypond version 2.8.0 under windows XP Home Edition I made the
following experience:

- before you start midi2ly.py you must change to the directory in which the
file
to be converted is stored; also, the output option does not work

- also midi2ly.py: blanks in the name of the file are not allowed.

- also midi2ly.py: rests are converted to s (skips) - if you run lilypond to
see
the scores, you would like to have rests (r).

- funny results when the midi file contains a grace note, an acciaccatura or an
appoggiatura. at least it is easy to find these places, since it writes the
result as a multiplication of the midi division factor and the corresponding
duration (and this contains a "*"...)

- similarly, when the duration of a note does not stop at the end of a measure
you will find a multiplication sign.

- the option "\layout {raggedright = ##t}" is not honored any more

please let me know if you need further documentation or details!

regards
Luc
